MERET AND ASIA have been close friends since 2003.
They have a similar spiritual outlook and approach to life and enjoy going to Meditation / yoga classes They spend many hours reflecting and exchanging their thoughts about the deeper meaning of life and the problems that humanity is facing.
Together they have created the New York Moving Against Addictions Lions Club and Models Against Addictions nonprofit foundation 501 (c) (3 ) which will focus on creating media campaigns to raise awareness and remove the stigma of guilt and shame that comes with addictions.
MAA feels that the world is at a turning point in the way the addictions are viewed and treated. We are transcending to a place where addictions can be treated with more compassion and love, recognizing the need for a complete, holistic approach to the treatments.
Our mission is to provide the experience, education and resources necessary to awaken each individual’s healing
We have set a few immediate goals
Sign up 1000 models and 100 physician who will support the believes of MAA
Create referrals for holistic treatments and spiritual practices (yoga and meditation) for people with addictive behaviors.
Organize a walk (5K) and yoga event in Central Park, NYC, with models and everybody who wants to be part of it.
Hold fundraisers throughout NY and the world with the desire to advance addiction treatments, including life-celebrating practices that will ensure a more conscious lifestyle.
We would like to initiate a movement and you can be a part of it !!!!Please send us your name and your email address to modelsagainstaddictions@gmail.com
